The AI Experience Day for teams
AI Literacy done differently
The AI Experience Day is not a classic training, nor is it a tool demo. It's an intensive, interactive learning day where teams do not get AI explained to them, they experience it themselves.
Participants move around the room, engage in discussion, experiment, and work actively with both mind and body. Learning does not happen by sitting and listening, but by doing, driven by curiosity, speed, lightness, and active participation. We build own models, test boundaries, discover risks develop a realistic sense of what AI can and cannot do. Concepts are not taught theoretically, they are made tangible. That is how real aha moments are created, moments that stay with you.
This day is designed for people without a technical background just as much as for experienced users who finally want to place AI in context and make informed decisions. The focus is not on technology, it is on judgment capability, the ability to separate opportunity from hype, critically assess outcomes, and consciously integrate AI into one’s own work context.
Why an AI Experience Day?
I got inspired to create the AI Experience Day when a dear former colleague said: “Wawi, you went through so much more than I ever will. It's impossible to catch up with your experience.”
That challenge excited me and I thought, why not turn it into a format for others?
I designed the AI Experience Day by compressing my personal AI journey — from a complete newcomer without a technical background to carrying responsibility for enterprise AI adoption and responsible AI in one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies — into a single day of shared exploration.
I share that experience not to pass on knowledge, but to empower people to assess, question, and make decisions about AI, regardless of background.
And I do this in my own way, with energy, movement, and whole-body engagement, driven by the conviction that true understanding does not come from listening, it comes from experiencing.
What makes this day special
The AI Experience Day is based on a simple principle: you only truly understand AI once you have experienced it yourself.
Insights do not remain abstract but are continuously reflected back into the professional context of participants.
The day is intentionally active. Participants stand up, shift perspectives, position themselves in the room, and work with cards, post-its, and physical models. Movement is not an add-on, it is part of the learning concept. It energizes, increases attention, and creates genuine aha moments.
We start with the basics, by training a real machine learning model, step by step, from problem formulation through features to missteps and bias. Abstract concepts become tangible. We discuss decisions in depth, and explore implications for each person’s work area.
We dive into the world of large language models. We show why these systems appear so powerful, why they still hallucinate, and how to work with them responsibly. Prompting becomes visible for what it is: clear communication rather than magic. Again, the approach is playful, critical, and alive. We test limits, provoke errors, laugh at surprising results, and repeatedly reflect on how these systems can be used in a sensible and responsible way in your own work context.
The day concludes with a What-If Balance Workshop where teams translate their new understanding into concrete use cases from their own work and learn to connect bold ideas with realistic risk assessment.
What participants can do after this day
After the AI Experience Day, participants can:
• assess which problems are suitable for AI and which are not
• critically question AI outputs instead of accepting them at face value
• realistically weigh the opportunities and risks of generative AI
• distinguish business value from technical play
• participate in informed AI discussions even without coding skills
In short, they develop AI literacy that actually holds up in everyday work.
Who the AI Experience Day is for
This day is especially suitable for:
• (interdisciplinary) teams with different levels of experience
• leaders who need to make decisions about AI
• organizations that want to integrate AI responsibly and effectively
No prior knowledge is needed. Curiosity is enough.
... and who not
It is not the right format for people looking for a compact tool overview, ready-made prompt libraries, or step-by-step “how-to” guides. It does not replace AI strategy work, governance, or technical implementation, and it is not for teams who prefer to be passively entertained rather than actively engaging, discussing, and taking a position. The day creates understanding, shared language, and confidence, but it does not make decisions for organizations. It empowers people to make better decisions themselves.
Format & Framework
The AI Experience Day is designed as a one-day, in-person format. It typically runs from around 9 AM to 5 PM, with an ideal group size of 8 to 10 people. It is hands-on, dialog-oriented, experiential, and interactive. We use real AI systems, only a few slides, and frameworks proven in practice that support meaningful application in everyday work.
Each day is tailored to the organization and its participants. The core content remains equally deep, but the focus varies depending on context.
